Top 5 Netflix Canada releases in September 2017 including full list

Your time might be consumed with network television shows in September, but Netflix Canada will always keep you coming.

Netflix announced their list of TV series and films that are going to be released in Canada next month and there’s a lot. So, we narrowed the list down to what we like to believe is the top 5 tv series and top 5 films. Don’t worry, the entire list, along with links to their IMDB/Netflix pages, are just down below.

Now, there’s really no point in saying that these next 5 TV series are the ones you need to watch now. I mean, they are already at least 3 seasons in, so if you haven’t watched yet, you’re really missing out.

#5 – Wentworth: Season 5

#4 – BoJack Horseman: Season 4

#3 – The Walking Dead: Season 7

#2 – Archer: Season 8

#1 – Narcos: Season 3

What really needs to be said is what new TV series are hitting Netflix Canada and when we mean new, we mean the first season of a TV series that was released in the last year on network television.

#5 – The Good Place

This comedy starring Kristen Bell is light-hearted and fun.

#4 – Lethal Weapon

Based on the popular Lethal Weapon films, there’s enough action, drama and comedy to go around, especially with Damon Wayans.

#3 – Timeless

Go on an adventure with this travel through time series.

#2 – The Exorcist

One of the best horror/thriller TV series to be released in a long time.

#1 – This is Us

A fantastic “dramedy” that follows the lives of each cast member to see how their paths cross and how their stories intertwine.

And now, our top 5 films:

Honourable mention: Disney’s Newsies the Broadway Musical

If you’re into broadway musicals, Disney’s Newsies is worth a watch.

#5 – Breakfast at Tiffany’s

A classic that you probably haven’t seen in a very, very long time.

#4 – Hidden Figures

Hidden Figures picked up steam late last year and was nominated for 3 Oscars.

#3 – There Will Be Blood

Daniel Day Lewis won best actor for his role in this film, which is a can’t miss.

#2 – The Deer Hunter

Starring Robert De Niro when he was 35 years old. Enough said.

#1 – Planet Earth II

Planet Earth was released in 2006. 11 years later, BBC has released a second instalment. If you missed this when it aired on TV, now is your chance all its glory in 4K (if you pay the little extra cheddar for Netflix).
