Jigsaw is hitting the big screen, again.
The widely successful Saw franchise (Roughly $67 million to make 7 films, grossing $871 million worldwide) is about to hit the big screen again. Lionsgate Films confirmed today that Saw 8 or as they call it Saw: Legacy, has begun development as they have hired the writers. Penning the script will be Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger who wrote Sorority Row, Piranha 3D and Piranha 3DD. Lionsgate Films did not however confirm if Saw 8 will be a sequel or a reboot. Fortunately, originals James Wan and Leigh Whannell will be executive producers for Saw: Legacy.
I’ll admit that I love the Saw franchise. Of course, it started to really go downhill after 5, but overall, I enjoyed them for what they are.
Expect a release in October 2017.
