An unexplained horror occurs in a Japanese forest.
January is usually a month where films go to crash and burn. Usually. Now, The Forest has some potential, but I get this feeling that it’s not going to end well. Just some background on this film – Aokigahara is a forest in Japan that lies at the north-west base of Mount Fiji. It is known to be called the Suicide Forest or Sea of Trees. I’ve never heard of it, but apparently, it has an association with demons in Japanese mythology and it is a common place for suicide. What’s even more crazy is that there is a sign at the beginning of the trail stating suicidal visitors should contact a suicide prevention association. Now, that’s one heck of a storyline, but will it work out?
