Starring a fantastic cast such as Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell, The Big Short is about four outsiders in the world of high-finance who predicted the credit and housing bubble collapse of the mid-2000s decide to take on the big banks for their lack of foresight and greed.
I’m excited for The Big Short, but I’m also worried it’s not going to do well at the box office. Where’s the marketing push for such an amazing cast? I barely see any advertising for this film.
Fun facts: The Big Short is based off a book written by Michael Lewis, who also wrote Moneyball, The Blind Side and many others. Michael Lewis stated that Paramount Pictures would only allow the director and screenwriter of The Big Short (Adam McKay) only if he agreed to make the sequel to Anchorman. Got to love the “behind-the-scenes” story in how some films come to fruition.
